The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show is known as the most significant automotive specialty equipment show in the world. Mac Tools is going to exhilarate this year's show by featuring the Mac Tools Top Fuel Dragster in the lobby of the Las Vegas Convention Center from Tuesday, October 30 through Friday, November 2. The Mac Tools Top Fuel Dragster, driven by Doug Kalitta, is the only National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) Top Fuel car being displayed at the 2001 SEMA Show. The show is estimated to host 80,000 guests and 4,000 vendors from around the world. "Mac Tools is thrilled that we are able to incorporate our long-standing business in the automotive industry with our motorsports program," says John Aden, president of Mac Tools. "The Mac Tools Top Fuel team is another representation of the quality products and service that Mac was founded upon. We are honored that the Mac Tools Dragster was chosen to represent the NHRA and Mac Tools at this year's SEMA Show." The Mac Tools Dragster delivers an impressive 6,000 horsepower that can take the car from zero to 100 MPH in less than one second. Co-Crew Chief and Team Manager Jim Oberhofer will be on hand at the event to answer questions about the maintenance and performance of the car, and fans of motorsports and automotive enthusiast alike will not want to miss the chance to get a close up view of a winning performer, the embodiment of speed and grace. "With
1,120,000 square feet of space on the convention center floor, we are tempted to
do an indoor test run," jokes Oberhofer. "But fans will have to settle
for seeing the Mac Tools Top Fuel Dragster standing still for a change." Mac Tools has been involved with motor sports for more than a decade, but this is the first year that the company has been a primary sponsor of an NHRA dragster. Mac Tools has also increased involvement with the NHRA this year by sponsoring two national events for the first time, the Mac Tools Thunder Valley Nationals in Bristol, Tenn. (April 26 - 28) and the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis, Ind. (Aug. 28 - Sept. 2). The company also sponsors the Mac Tools Gatornationals in Gainesville, Fla. (March 14 - 17) and 30 associate racing teams. About MAC Tools Mac Tools is a leader in quality, professional hand tools.
