Type of Club: The "Four Wheel Drive Club of Southern Africa" is a family-orientated recreational 4x4 club that stands for responsible off-road driving. It was established in March 1972, when a dozen 4x4 enthusiasts gathered to form ?The Four Wheel Drive Club of South Africa? which became The Four Wheel Drive Club of Southern Africa when the Botswana and Swaziland sections were incorporated. Currently the club consists of ten branches with about 1600 members.

Club Name: Four Wheel Drive Club of Southern Africa (Western Cape)
Type of Club: Family-oriented recreational 4x4 club that stands for responsible off-road driving. Membership is open to any 4x4 owner (or prospective owner) and any 4x4 vehicle type. We are also involved in Search and Rescue, Off-Road Challenges and Environmental Conservation Day, weekend and extended runs are organised to venues near and far. We offer an off-road driver training program for club members and public service organisations. Social events are arranged every two months and members receive an informative monthly newsletter.
Location: Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa
Meetings are held: Second Sunday of each month - day outing at different venues. Outings vary between scenic 4x4 mountain trails to difficult obstacle type events.
