One of my favorite things about these events is meeting new people, as well as
catching up with old friends. Gene
and Toni Nault, shown here along with niece Kristen, towed their Series III all
the way up from Sarasota FL. No problem when your tow vehicle is a Land Rover
Discovery. This is the second year that Gene has been amongst those cited for
the Greatest Distance Traveled award. More important, Gene prevented me from
getting scurvy by making sure I had my fill of fresh-squeezed OJ every morning.
His reasoning: "Hey, this stuff grows on trees where I come from" Jared
Silbersher is shown here concentrating on the teeter-totter. Jackie
Bookout is very proud of his Series III . Originally purchased for $300 (get
Jackie to tell you the story) it's been the object of much loving attention over
the years. In addition to keeping it looking pristine, Jackie drives it very
smoothly off-road. (Mike Malone, take note!) He's well-balanced in other ways
too, he took second in the teeter-totter. Speaking
of Mike Malone, he took this shot of me and my Series IIa late Sunday night when
only the hard core were still present. The Fosters can is being recycled into
spare body parts for my
Rover. No More! Take me back to the RoverWeb! All photos ? 1995, Jeff Berg unless otherwise credited.
