today was the first day i have ever saw a 2-door 4-runner that was
like the 92 year. it was really odd. sorta looked like a 2-door
explorer. and no i am not talking about the old school 4-runners w/ the
top that can come off. this was a realy non-top coming off 4-runner. i
didn't know they made them. had triangle windows for the back seats.

Yep, but they're VERY rare in the US. All the ones I've seen had canadian
plates. Leo D. has one, and there's a pictures of it in the 'readers
runners' section off the main toyota pages at off-road.com

There's another alterative. Look at the multi-component drop in
replacements for R-12. These will require a change over to barrier
type hoses, but unlike R134a is still compatible with the oil used in
an R-12 system. The good news is it actually has 15-20% improved
capacity compared to R-12 and is much more enviro friendly. The bad
news is it costs up there with R-12 and needs to be charged as a
liquid to the low pressure side of the system. The problem with R-134
is it's critical temperature is too low. Hence on retrofits the
condenser temp are close to this temp. When this happens you don't
totally condense the vapor into liquid and hence lose the attending
latent heat rejection. You then can't evap the fluid through the
expansion valve and achieve the lower temp needed at the evaporator
 inside the cab.

I like my 3" fronts. They ride as well or better than the stock springs
(my stockers were sagged quite a bit and I was bottoming out easily,
making for a rough ride). Haven't tried the superlift or softrides.

How did you find out about the Toyota 4x4 Mailing List: Searching for Toyota
 4WD on the web.
General info about your vehicle, self, etc.: Bought the Toy from a friend a
couple of months ago. After a week from buying it I put in broader tires ,
bull bars, kangaroo bars and Hella Rallye 3000 Spotlights. I am still very
new to modifying and/or upgrading stuff on vehicles. Also in Kenya , there
is not much craze about these things and cars are driven as they are bought.
After market stuff is also not available here like in the U.S. However I
intend to make the Toy a grand piece by putting in a winch and also a
suspension or a body lift. Other goodies will come in later.

You might be able to get a 50 state vehicle there, which you could
bring in, but you will have to pay use tax (same rate as sales
tax). If you are in the market for a Toyota wait until you get
here. I know a guy in fleet sales at Longo who will give you
a good price and no hassles. Paul Clements at Longo Toyota.
 Ken.
