I found an 85 4 runner w/ 170k for $3300, is it worth it? All I know is
it has A/C and 1 yr. old paint. This truck would be my daily driver if I
was to buy it. Am I going to have to expect to put a lot into it to keep
it going? I would like to know what you guys think.
 Thanks, Matt

OK - after all this angst about running dual ants - has anyone thought of
running just 1 of the 2 antennas - that way you get the 'looks' of the dual
trucker antennas, with the tuning ease, etc. of a single, and if you break the
'live' one - just swap to the 'dummy' one.

I support what this fellow is saying. Stick only to 12 Channel models.
I own a GARMIN 40, and just love it, but it sometimes has a hard time in
keeping up contact. The Garmin interface was simply the far best one,
but nowdays, everybody seems to have copied it, so that doesn't matter
 so much.
 I recomend Garmin or Magellan.

 Hello all,
I was changing the belts on my '86 truck(sr5) yesterday and I think I
couldn't get the alternator belt tight enough. It now screams bloody
murder sometimes. Is there some trick to getting the alt. belt tight? It
seems rather difficult due to it position.(under the p/s pump)
 TIA

No, I've got all full fluid levels, and no leaks. I've also got no idea
what exactly it is, so I'm taking it to MR. Toy dealer tomorrow so he
 can look at it.

You didn't say what 4WD system you have. With ADD or manual hubs, sure,
no problem. with auto hubs, i don't think so. But I don't think Toyota
put auto hubs on anything newer than 1988.
Popping some air our of your tires would have helped too.

well, i have automatic hubs. not sure what ADD is. i heard it is
all time 4wd? is that right? anyhow... so, i am not sure if i could have
locked my hubs in going in reverse. i forgot to try it. is it just like
locking in going forward? cuz i know pathfinders (older models) you have
to lock in going forward, and unlock going backwards. like a screw...
can anyone tell me if the 92' trucks can lock in going in reverse?
thanks... so maybe i wont have to call a $60 tow truck...
