Each month we will feature a
Club or Clubs of the month. We will attempt to
feature one Motorcycle or ATV club and one Four
Wheel Drive club or Association each month.
We encourage ALL OHV enthusiasts to join a club or association in
their area. Not only will you make lifelong
friendships but it is important we join together to
support our sport for the future.

2005 OHV Club of the Month
One of the fascinating things
about our hobby is that it is enjoyed worldwide. It
is very interesting to see what clubs in different
countries do to enjoy themselves in the great
outdoors. Yes, this month's Club of the Month is
from a different continent.
I am totally impressed by the
activities this club is involved in. Not only do
they partake in off-road driving, they also
participate in search and rescue, driver training,
marshals for events, tours and safaris and many
other activities.
They even own a piece of land
where they can go and hang out. The property has a
clubhouse with a hall, bar and conference room. It
even has Internet access! Club member can drive the
obstacle course, eat in the picnic area, grassy
camping area, playground for the kids and a swimming
pool.
My only complaint about the
website is that there are no pics. With everything
this club does one would expect tons of pics. Other
than that, the website covers a lot of topics.
The Four Wheel Drive Club of
Southern Africa is an excellent model of how off-roaders
can participate in community activities. With the
club consisting of 10 branches and around 1,600
members, they are definitely a force to be reckoned
with. And by the looks of their website, their
members are extremely active and well respected in
Southern Africa.
