Per a letter I have from Death Valley National Park Superintendent Mr.
Richard H. Martin, the following roads are open (as opposed to my earlier
posting on The 4x4 Web Page):
(My review of the Desert Protection Act maps indicated that these roads would
be closed -- and this was verified by DVNP Resource Management staff personnel
in March 1995. So we can assume one of two options: 1) these roads will in fact
be closed, but later on; or 2) something has changed with the boundaries of the
wilderness area and these roads will be left open. I hope it's the second
alternative).
The following roads, according to Mr. Martin, will in fact be closed forever:
