We have an opportunity to be represented on the Park Service Advisory Councils as established by the Desert Protection Act of 1994. Both the Mojave National Preserve and Death Valley National Park will have 15 person committees helping to steer the implementation of the wilderness bill (and hopefully getting some roads re-opened in the process).

Myself, Mike Ahrens of CA4WDC, and Ron Schiller of High Desert Multiple Use Coalition have been nominated for the Councils. Anyone of us would be well qualified to speak for motorized recreation; but it would be nice to have all three of us appointed. Secretary of the Interior Bruce Babbitt is going to make the final appointment. You can help by writing him a letter.
