Warn Full-Floating Axle Kit Install

Source: Off-Road.com

Terry purchased the axle kit from R and P 4WD PARTS, Inc. The kit is made by Warn Industries and took less than 2 hours to install it from the time the Jeep was put in the garage 'till it was driven out again. Now that's a fast upgrade. Follow along as Terry performs the upgrade for us.

The pictures on the left are in order as the work was done. Terry reports the kit to be very complete and it had great instructions.

First jack up the vehicle and use jack stands. Then remove the tire and wheel. Next remove the brake drum (axle2.jpg). Next remove the axle (axle3.jpg) then the seal and bearing race from the axle housing (axle4.jpg). Clean the axle housing (axle5.jpg). Prepare the hub for installation by packing the bearings (axle6.jpg). Install the seal in the back of the hub (axle7.jpg). Install the axle seal in the axle housing and the install the spindle. Don't forget the additional seal that goes on the spindle (axle8.jpg). Now install the hub and outer bearing using the nuts and lock rings (axle9.jpg). Next slide in the axle being sure not to damage the seal in the housing (axle10.jpg). Install the inner half of the locking hub and install the snap rings (axle11.jpg). Install the outer half of the locking hub (axle12.jpg). Next install the brake drum and blead the brakes (axle13.jpg). Now install the wheel and tire (axle14.jpg).

Great looking setup! You just repeat for the other side. Make sure to read and follow the Warn instructions as this is just a quick walkthrough. Terry reports that the kit works great. The rear hubs are a bonus if you flat tow your Jeep. Now you can now turn out all four hubs and away you go!
