I don't remember that, at least the part about the front diff not being
 submerged in oil.
Not a biggie, tomorrow they get locked and the Pro Comp 4 inch lift gets
it's first test (ok, a small test). Anyone else have this lift on a
Taco? I know I'm the first locally (gets alot of attention).

I
doubt many are. Anyway, you need to spin the ring gear
occasionally to keep it from rusting. Also, it helps
exercise the CV joints, U joints and CV boots.
Note that I have a manual hub Taco. ADD Taco's shouldn't
need that warning (assuming there is a dfference in
 Owners Manuals).

 From: "penny" Subject: Drag Rod
To: , If its the drag-link you are referring to, yes I have re-built mine and its
very easy. The parts costed $37.00 and were in a "kit" w/detailed
instructions. Pay particular attention to the "ball" on the end of the
pitman arm and the "ball" on the steering arm...if these are not perfectly
round ,replacement is recommended. (for safety sake)
Just follow the instructions ...I would also put a "mark" on the end of the
draglink that connects to the pitman arm and on the pitman arm itself
because if you put it back together the wrong way your steering will bind
 in one direction. Good Luck

There is a tie Rod and a Drag link. The poor man's rebuild for the drag
ling is a couple penny's at each end, does wonders. I don't know how a
tie rod can wear out, I suppose the ends could wear out but I have never
 seen it happen.
My couple pennies at each end of the tie rod......

I have a complete Dynomax exhaust system I picked up
recently with an '85 4Runner I bought. It is new and still in
the box. The kit sheet shows it as #17418 and the application
listing says it fits '89-91 4 cylinder 4Runners and '89-91
V6 4Runners. It must fit more models, but I'm not sure which.
Kit listing shows it contains: muffler, tailpipe, brackets, clamp.
The large box it came in also has a new Dynomax cat in it as well.
If someone is interested in it, find the going price for this
cat/exhaust kit and I'll make you a deal on this one.

btw, the cr-v has the same kind of thin, low hanging rear axle trailing rods.
hit them on something and say goodbye to them...

 To: toy4x4@tlca.org
My wife has a RAV4 and love's it! As far as it
not having a lo range, with a 5 speed in first
gear it is almost a granny gear. It really
doesn't need a lo range. One of the 4x4 mag's
compared it to a wrangler (oh please) when the
RAV4 was first released and harped about the
same thing, but I think they had an automatic.
How about the E. address and a silhoutte of a
truck or four runner without enouph detail for
a year or generation diffrence but all Toyota.
