Range Rover for 2006
Press Release
Land Rover 4x4
IRVINE, Calif., March 21 -- Land Rover North
America today announced U.S. pricing for the Range Rover
for 2006. The manufacturer's suggested retail price for
the HSE model will be $74,950 and the supercharged model will
retail for $89,950. Both models come fully equipped, featuring
powerful new V8 engines, improved dynamics, and exterior
enhancements, reaffirming Range Rover's position as the flagship
vehicle for Land Rover.
"The Range Rover for 2006 has evolved into the most powerful and
most luxurious vehicle that Land Rover has ever offered," said
Richard Beattie, Executive Vice President, Land Rover North
America. "Although consumer demand has never been stronger, we
continue to improve Range Rover, ensuring that our customers drive
the most premium SUV in the world."
A naturally aspirated 4.4-liter V8 engine with 305bhp is offered in
the HSE, while a supercharged 4.2-liter V8 engine producing 400bhp
is offered in the supercharged model, making this the most powerful
Land Rover ever.
Both engines are lightweight and use advanced torque-based engine
management systems that, together with drive-by-wire throttle
control and variable camshaft phasing (on the naturally aspirated),
continually adjust the engine to deliver optimum performance, fuel
economy and emissions. While the result is increased performance,
the upgraded engines achieve better fuel economy than the outgoing
V8.
The Range Rover for 2006 is not only faster -- it is quieter. Cabin
noise is reduced as a result of engine changes, laminated front
side glass and a modified A-post profile.
Steering is enhanced and the air suspension with adjustable
ride-height is improved, for even better on- and off-road
performance and comfort.
The Range Rover retains its iconic shape, but there are subtle yet
distinct changes. All Range Rovers for 2006 get a new front bumper
design, new headlamps and taillights, a new front grille, revised
power vents and new 19-inch alloy wheels. The supercharged
derivatives are distinguished by additional styling modifications
including mesh-design front grille and power vents, unique 20-inch
alloy wheels, and special black-on-silver badging.
All Range Rover models come highly equipped with a list of
desirable features and innovative technologies, including
four-corner independent air suspension, Hill Descent Control,
harman/kardon(R) LOGIC7(TM) digital surround-sound AM/FM-stereo
audio system with six-disc CD changer and 14 speakers, satellite
radio, tire pressure monitoring, touch-screen navigation,
Bluetooth(R) telephone connectivity and a rear-view camera.
The supercharged model adds premium leather, Brembo front brakes,
adaptive front lighting, the cold climate package and the
above-mentioned 20-inch wheels.
Sales for Range Rover for 2006 will commence this summer.
** Prices noted include destination and delivery charges.
