General Overview

Between 1983 & 1992, Ford has sold an enormous number of the mid-size Rangers and Broncos, and its not suprising why. From a practical standpoint, they are economical and reliable. From an aesthetic standpoint, they are very "trucklike", with a businesslike appearance. From an off-roaders standpoint, they are capable trail machines, even with the smallish factory rubber.

With truck costs skyrocketing, many off-roaders are rediscovering the little Fords. With shop rates ranging from $40 - $80 per hour, many off-roaders are discovering the need to do their own repairs and maintenance. For these people, the 83-92 Ranger / Bronco II edition of the Haynes manual is a "must have" item.

With a wealth of information, an easy to understand format, and a low price, the Haynes manual guides the shadetree mechanic through a variety of general maintenance chores, and gives more experienced mechanics the specifications they need for more in depth work.

Highlights

  • Error codes for computer controlled applications
  • Torque specs
  • Part identification and differentiation
  • Step by step disassembly & assembly procedures
  • Electrical / wiring diagrams
  • Fuel system (carbourated and fuel injected)
  • Diagnostics & trouble shooting procedures

The Verdict -

If you own a Ranger or Bronco II, you need this book. An invaluable source of information, it can save you an enormous amount of aggravation, downtime, and most importantly, money.

Even those who choose to hire out mechanical work will find the book to be of great value, as few used vehicles ever come with the original owners manual. While not intended to be a replacement for said manual, the Haynes book will provide all the "average" owner needs to know - and more.

I have a Haynes Repair Manual for Ford Pick-ups and Expedition 1997 thru 2002. I am looking for diagnostics error codes for the ABS system. Do you have a separate manual for these codes? Thank You, Howard
