Mon, 15 Jun 1998 08:47:26 -0400 I've ordered a '99 M-Class with Opal Black and Grey interior, M1 package
and Bose system.....It's due in October.

I liked the Opal Black exterior (saw it on a E-320 and C-280 at the MB
dealer). It hints of bluish and grey tones.

But....frankly I did not like the Sand and Grey leather color selections
for the interior. I grudgingly selected the grey because...
1st. There are no other leather choices.
2nd. it blends (I felt) better with the exterior color and will handle
off-road abuse better than the Sand.

Suggestion: I think M. Benz should make one or two other color
selections available (Oyster and Dark Blue are great). Or a blend of two
colors (after all the M-Class is a sports AAV), like: Palomino and
Oyster or Oyster and dark Blue or Oyster and Grey. I would like to see
an Oyster and dark Blue interior or a dark Blue leather interior.....

Does Mercedes Benz check this post? I hope so.....

Cheers......Jack Delar

Grey versus sand is a personal choice, so don't get upset if I don't pick
your color. [I've ordered my M class in black, even though everyone I know
thinks I'm nuts and says I should get silver. Again, it's a personal choice.
I think a black M class looks cool even though it isn't as practical as
silver. Note that the super sun roof only comes in black, so a black M will
look more finished than other colors with this option.]

I don't like the look of the gray leather with the wood trim. The wood (and
plastic) is too reddish and just plain looks out of place with the gray
leather. I've ordered the sand interior, which can now be ordered with
black exterior. The wood/sand combo looks more natural. Yes, the seats will
look dirty sooner. If you are going to go off road or do something dirty,
use seat covers or another vehicle. [I have ratty work vehicles too.]
Further, I find the gray interior depressing. Again, it's a personal choice.
