Jeep recently unveiled a new custom Renegade that will be on display at the upcoming 2015 Geneva International Motor Show.  The Hard Steel is a tricked-out Trailhawk Renegade that features brushed steel livery for a look the company says is inspired by both aviation and marine technology. To offset the metal styling, Jeep used a matte black color on the side cladding, fenders, bumpers, roof bars, mirror covers and wheels.

It’s not only the outside of the Hard Steel that gets special treatment, as the interior continues the brushed steel accents on the air conditions vents, gearbox, glove compartment and speaker covers. Light grey stitching is found throughout, as well as a grey Trailhawk logo embroidered on the headrests. Jeep used a unique Frau Century lead-colored leather designed to impart a slightly worn look while offering a soft touch.

The Hard Steel concept – a brainchild of Jeep, Mopar and backed by the FCA Style Center – features 16-inch matte black wheels fitted with BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO tires. For improved ground clearance, the Renegade Hard Steel features raised suspension (though it is not detailed how much), and for unique trail protection the front skid plate features engraved “Trailhawk” lettering.

The concept Renegade doesn’t only feature concept parts, however, as it is equipped with current Mopar accessories such as a Mopar grille, black mirror covers, black running boards, floor mats and a towbar. The off-road-ready trailer connected to the Hard Steel provides a host of technological capabilities, as it actually serves as a WiFi hotspot for Internet connectivity.

Inside the trailer is a large touchscreen display featuring the new Uconnect LIVE system to provide connection to Internet radio, news, social media connection and more. This new Uconnect system, which will be the first Jeep available with this system later this year, offers access to Internet music through Deezer, Internet radio via TuneIn, news through Reuters and live traffic from Tom Tom LIVE. Jeep also outfitted the Hard Steel with a Renegade playlist of 25 tracks that it says “evok the true spirit of the strongly suggestive unconventional and adventurous new Jeep model.”
