DirtSports Magazine had an impressive
booth with an Alumicraft dual-purpose car.
This year the Extreme Motorsports Expo was bigger
than past years. With over 20 acres of exhibits, it gave the show a
good variety of styles and designs to choose from and gave visitors
plenty to see and do. Sand cars dominated the show without a doubt.
Just about every builder west of the Mississippi was present for
the three-day event. From the west entrance you could see a great
display of vehicles and vendors. We couldn’t wait to get in.
Visitors were greeted by DirtSports Magazine, which had an
Alumicraft dual-purpose car on display. They also had plenty of
copies of their growing publication on site for show goers to take
home.
Giant Motorsports represented the
growing Pre-Runner community in Off-Road
The beautiful sunny California weekend allowed for an
Indoor/Outdoor show. The element this adds is second to none,
especially because you can better appreciate the paint, graphics,
and engine detail on today’s sand cars. Extreme Motorsports
had a large sized booth displaying their sand cars. This company is
making some of the nicest looking sand cars on the market today. As
if their cars weren’t enough, they even had a model on site
autographing posters. The Extreme girl was kept busy all day.

Although the show this year was predominantly Sand Cars, one could
find pretty much any Off-Road vehicle or machine under the sun.
There were golf carts with suspension lifts, lifted trucks, diesel
trucks, race cars, race buggies, motorcycles, quads, pre-runners,
rock-crawlers, even all terrain skate boards. There were also
plenty of Toy Haulers to look at from Giant RV and Mike Thompson RV
Super Stores. Let’s just say that if you love anything
“Off-Road”, you would have felt right at home.

We stopped by to visit our friends at Poison Spider Customs. They
had brought their “Suicide Sally” to display the
awesome machine the Bruiser really is. Many people were captivated
by its sight and stopped to admire it. They had the most hardcore
4x4 machines at the show. Clifton Slay from Poison Spider mentioned
that the show was good for them to show how the Bruiser is a great
crossover from rock crawling to dirt or sand.

In addition to being an Off-Road candy store, the show also
provided some very hot toys – like custom choppers and wagons
for the kids. There were also plenty of clothing vendors on site
with the hottest styles in off-road apparel. John and Terri from
Dirty Girls told us that the show was very good for them. They were
busy both Friday night and Saturday. All in all, the show was good
for exhibitors, vendors, and show goers.

While at the show, we had the opportunity to speak with Dana Cote,
President of RAW Motorsports. He explained to us how the timing for
this show was perfect for people wanting to have new Sand Cars for
next season. His company was able to help many customers this
weekend prepare for next season at the Imperial Sand Dunes. So for
those of you thinking about getting a new Sand Car or revamping the
one you already own, don’t wait too much longer. You really
want to start making those plans now so you can put them into
effect in the next few months. Prime duning season will be here
before you know it.
BRP – Had a very large
display of trucks
The Extreme Motorsports Expo was a dream come true. Off-Roaders
from all walks were there for the same reason we were. We love
Off-Road, and can’t stay away from it. It was amazing being
able to step back from the crowd and take in the realization of how
much our sport has grown. Off-Road is a form of life and a passion.
