October
30, 2001 -- Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton
Corporation (NYSE: ETN) , will display its full line of performance
differentials this week at the Specialty Equipment Marketing
Association (SEMA) show. New at SEMA this year, Eaton introduces
the ELocker(TM), a fully controllable locking differential
compatible with today's electronic vehicle systems such as
ABS and stability control systems. The Electronic
Locker, providing an enhanced level of traction on variable
terrain and surfaces, offers maximum traction for the severest
driving conditions, yet behaves like an open differential
when not engaged. The ELocker(TM) also provides flexibility
to the vehicle manufacturer by providing multiple control
options ranging from computer supervised, driver selectable
operation to fully automatic operation. In an era when having
a vehicle stranded or stuck is a serious concern to the driver,
the Electronic Locker provides added assurance that the vehicle
will reach its destination. In addition
to the introduction of the ELocker(TM), Eaton will showcase
its line of "rebuildable" Aftermarket Limited Slip
Differentials. This "clutch pack" designed unit
employs race-bred carbon friction discs to restrict relative
wheel rotation in order to provide more driving force to the
wheel with the greatest traction. Eaton "Posi" performance
differentials go back to the muscle cars of the 60s and 70s,
where these limited slip differentials gained credibility
in the market. Eaton carries this reputation into its current
and future designs for domestic and import vehicle applications
intended to expand the product line into other high-performance/racing
applications. Eaton
performance differentials will be on display with Eaton's
Aeroquip Performance Products at booth 11005, located in the
Las Vegas Convention Center, beginning today and running through
November 1, 2001. Eaton's market-leading superchargers will
be showcased by Magnuson Products at booth 10856. Magnuson,
the authorized distributor of Eaton brand superchargers, will
feature complete Eaton-based supercharger systems for the
aftermarket. To learn more about Eaton's automotive products
