I'm not going to go into a long diatribe about who I am, where I came from, etc. Because, do you really care? Of course you do, I lied, here goes.
I'm a transplanted Chicagoan, moved to Tucson in 1980, Safford, AZ in 1989, and the Four Wheeling Center of the Universe, Farmington, NM in 1996. I rode motorcycles for years, started with street bikes, had a built to the hilt Kawasaki 500 triple in the early 70's, a Yoshimura engined Kawasaki 900 after that (you ask, why is this guy still alive after those two bikes?) picked up a Yamaha 360 dirt bike somewhere along the way in the late 70's, got a Honda CB1100F, traded that for a Honda XR500R (cool bike!), got tired of motorcycles somewhere in the mid 80's, had been wheeling in my buddy's Ford F-150, bought a Jeep CJ-7 in '85, still have that same Jeep which has gone through several metamorphises. |
 | Avalanche OHV Ranch Rock Race
November 1, 2004 By: Brad Ullrich
(Allison, Colorado) The final Avalanche Ranch Rock Race of the season was held the weekend of October 23-24, 2004 at the ohv ranch outside of Allison, CO. The Thursday and Friday before the event were cloudy, with snow at the higher elevations, so about half of the competitors that had verbally committed failed to show. But, they missed out, because Saturday morning dawned clear and cold, and by midday we were even able to remove our jackets. In fact, the entire weekend turned out to be a beautiful late fall weekend in the southern Rockies. |

(Allison, Colorado) Competition Rock Crawling has come a long way since the first ARCA event in Las Cruces, New Mexico back in the late 90s. Since that time several sanctioning bodies have formed, some have merged with one another such as UROC and ARCA, and the vehicles have gotten more and more exotic. To some people, though, competition crawling, mostly held in the southwest, is starting to all pretty much look the same. Enter Rock Racing. |
 | 2001 Skyjacker Women's National Rock Crawling Championship Some Things You Should Never Do

November 2001 -- On BLM land outside Aztec, NM, 37 women in well-prepared rock rigs competed for the title of "Queen of the Rocks." They came from all over the country, from states as far away as Wisconsin, Nebraska and Louisiana, all converging on an area called the Rock Garden, which up until a couple years ago, was a well-kept secret to all but local four wheelers |
