To push the Bronco to a reported top speed of 150 mph, engine-builder Wally Cartwright saw to it that the Ford 351ci Windsor engine was equipped with the best parts of that era. A 650cfm Holley carb sits atop a Ford aluminum Cobra high-rise intake manifold, while an Isky cam bumps the rockers. A set of custom Cragar headers exited the spent gasses. Horsepower is an estimated 390.

No detail was too small, as this racing-specific Slant Racing Division radiator cap indicates.

Winning a race means first finishing, and having a backup Hays ignition system was key to this. If the first one died, the other could be quickly connected via a snap-together plug.
