Yup, it's that time of year again! The Roadrunners are chirping, the snakes are rattling, and several hundred thousand horsepower is about to fill the Baja air with song. It's two loops around the Baja 500 course on Nov. 4'th to 6'th as SCORE International and Tecate Beer present the 1999 running of the legendary "Baja 1000"! Will "Lightning" Larry Ragland carry the ORC banner to his 4th victory? Will Ivan Stewart repeat his 1998 win? Will the "dark horse" Larry Roeseler pull off a "third big" win in a matter of months?

As the race fastapproaches, time is running out to get prepared for the 1000, and once again, Off-Road.com is here to help! Remember first and foremost that you'll be going to a different country with different laws and regulations. Be sure to bring all your identification (a passport is best), auto registration, buy Mexican auto insurance, and above all, be respectful of the country, the land, and it's people. The Baja 1000 can only happen with the cooperation of the Mexican government, and in the face of increasing pressure from environmentalists, it's up to all of us to make sure that the race is an asset to Mexico, and not a liability.
