For fans of the ultimate extreme motorsport, the Baja 1000 has always been the place where dreams were shattered, and legends were made. The Baja peninsula is our Olympus, our Valhalla. It’s the realm of our heroes. But the Mexican frontier is about to challenge the mettle of even the greatest of these off-road warriors. It’s the race we’ve all been waiting for, and it’s name is “The Baja 2000.”

With the longest off-road race in North America about to separate the men from the boys, many of us hard-core desert rats have already converged on the peninsula; many more are back in the states, watching the revolution unfold on the stupidvision. Unfortunately, the big black box with the remote control won’t be broadcasting much about the action and excitement across the border.

It must suck to be you!

But don’t give up hope! The roving reporters at Off-Road.com are on the scene, and will be bringing you the best coverage – bar none – available anywhere. But don’t expect your standard media fare. We’re taking you all the way to Cabo and back again with road reports, photos, commentary, and all the action behind the scenes; before, during, and after the Baja 2000.

So, as the chase crews fan out across the peninsula and last minute preperations are made, kick your feet up, crack a cool one, and settle in for the ride. It’s gonna’ be a long one, it’s gonna’ be a rough one. And it just may be the greatest off-road race of all-time.
