Rock Face, California: During the last few
weeks, ORC staffers took to the road in search of some raging
rockcrawling action. A few thousand miles and two national
rockcrawling events later, we found what we were looking for and
more. The UROC event in Farmington, New Mexico was nearly
out-of-control with epic action and great competition. It was
followed up by the tremendous show put on at the Goodyear/Skyjacker
Extreme Rock Crawling Championships at Reno, Nevada.
It didn't take long for us to recognize some talent.
And by that we don't mean talent seated in a rock crawling buggy or
Jeep, we are talking about the camera men that shoot killer video
footage.
And a short time later, we were talking with Pat
Gallagher, president and founder of RP Films of Truckee,
California. He was down deep on the ground shooting some footage,
smiling, working, and getting the job done. It wasn't long before
we had one of his newest DVD's in our hands to review. The action
continued to be outrageous and Pat had his crew on hand rolling
some of the best footage in rock crawling action. By day's end, we
checked back with the boys from RP Films and they had captured some
serious lengths of raw footage depicting some of the wildest rock
crawling in the nation.
Rocking the living room via DVD/VHS |
The boys from Fire Station 10 arrived to the ORC West
pad on their night off to watch the latest from RP Films and Times
Four Productions. With the latest movie in the DVD player, it was
quiet until the awesome music started pounded the speakers. The 65"
inch big screen Mitsubishi started pounding, the surround sound was
pumping and the rock crawling was in the living room. With music
from the bands INRUIN, STRAIGHT LINE STITCH, and FORTY THREE, no
doubt this film was produced by professionals. From the likes of
rock crawling kings, such as Jon Bundrant and Tracy Jordan, this
DVD tale was all like slick rock! RP Films kicks ass!!!
Some of the firemen in the crowd had no idea what
rock crawling was and they were poised on the end of the couch. The
footage was epic, the production of the film was smooth and the
blending of the music with the live rock crawling sounds was
perfect. This film is all about being a big winner.
Set on the stage of the Cal Rocs event in Cougar
Buttes, California, Pat and his team of professionals crawled the
rocks themselves to get the best of the footage. It wasn't long and
the credits were rolling and these fire hose mongers were
complaining about watching more...most definitely a good
complaint!!! The action was incredible, the angles were tight and
this is a film you don't want to miss.
ORC staffers later discovered the DVD was missing,
however a call to Station 10 revealed the movie was being played
again and again at the time of this article. Look for RP Films Put
