While Southern California Off-Road Enterprises CEO Sal Fish prefaced the following statement by saying that he would never want anyone to assume that he favors smaller entry turnouts, the veteran desert race promoter still managed to put a positive spin on the Terrible's Primm 300.

"You know, we had a great race at Primm," Fish told Dirt Sports via telephone after the event. We had 124 entries, which was about 50 less than the previous year, but last year being an anniversary year was such a big one for us. To tell you the truth, it was kind of a nice change for me because it didn't seem like I had nearly as many fires to put out at Primm. I found myself really enjoying the racing itself. And we never had a single injury. The race was a success. For the Crystal Bay Casino Ford Trophy Truck team of Roger Norman and his hired gun, Larry Roeseler, Primm was a phenomenal success. The duo earned their first overall victory since joining forces at the start of the 2008 season by burning through the four 72-mile laps of the rugged 288-mile course to cross the finish line in four hours, 50 minutes and 20 seconds, averaging a surprisingly quick 59.52 mph. Norman drove the last lap to victory after teammate Roeseler handed him a 10-minute lead accrued during the first three laps. It was Norman's first career Trophy Truck win in only his third race in the class.

"Not bad for having no brakes," a very happy Norman said at the finish line. We had no GPS, no brakes and I couldn't talk with Larry [Roeseler] for the last 50 or 60 miles. We never did get the brake issue worked out and so I was downshifting quite a bit. It doesn't really help a lot to lose your brakes. I don't know how we pulled through it, but we did. There were a couple of turns where we were going like 30 miles an hour, but then you're not trying to go too slow because the race was so tight. It's probably the toughest thing I've ever done because that was a lot of pressure. I can't believe it. After all of that, I can't believe it."
