Las Vegas, Nevada – The fifth event of the 2003 “Silver State Series”, the Terrible’s Town “250”, will be held April 25, 26, 27, 2003, in Pahrump, Nevada, promoted by Best In The Desert Racing Association and hosted by Terrible’s Town Casino. A $40,000 guaranteed total purse makes this “The Richest Off-Road Race in Nevada.” For the 2003 race $10,000 will be awarded to the 1st Overall Car/Truck winner, $7,000 will be awarded to the 1st Overall Pro Motorcycle and $3,000 awarded to the 1st Overall Pro Quad winner!!! The remainder of the prize money will be distributed for class payback. This is a great opportunity to race a great course and to take home a lot of prize money! The Terrible’s Town “250” is a 250-mile loop race which will start and finish in Pahrump, Nevada, located 60 miles Northwest of Las Vegas on Highway 160. The event will feature a full array of off-road vehicles, which include, Motorcycles, Quads, Cars and Trucks. Best In The Desert Director Casey Folks says, “This is the fifth year of the Terrible’s Town “250” and I expect a record number of Car and Truck entries racing for the additional $40,000. The Terrible’s Town “250” has also been chosen by the Pro Dirt group and will bring over twenty 1500 Class cars to the race. I also expect over 100 Motorcycle and Quad teams of the top factory teams to be racing. The team opened up the BITD season in Parker with an overall victory, but have already clinched and overall victory in the SCORE series opener at Laughlin and recently followed up with a Class 1 victory in San Felipe. It's been a stellar season so far. Going into round 2, odds are on the Inland Truss to take the number one spot in Pahrump. |
The 2002 “Silver State Series” Car and Truck winners, winning 1st in the 1500 Professional Class and 1st overall were Troy Herbst, Larry Roeseler, Tim Herbst and Vince Natali, driving a Ford Powered Smith Built Truggy, in 4:40:56, and Damen Jefferies and Casey Jefferies, driving a Ford Trick Truck, won 1st in the 1400 Trick Truck Class, in 4:50:34. The Motorcycle winners, winning 1st in the Open Professional Class and 1st overall were Destry Abbott and Shane Esposito, riding a Kawasaki, in 4:41:46, and the Quad winners, winning 1st Quad Pro and 1st Overall, were Jimmy Stephensen and Michael Cafro, riding a Honda, in 5:58:42. These are the teams to beat in 2003!
