There are certainly still trucks, buggies, bikes and quads still on the pennisula, moving and not so much. We wish we had GPS and radio contact with all of them to provide 100% coverage of every one of your favorite teams, but Baja is Baja. The remoteness is part of the lure and what makes it a true adventure to this day.

Pistol Pete Sohren in the #2 Trophy Truck blew through town at 11:48, followed two minutes later by Robby Gordon with a engine that sounded to be on its last legs. Amazingly the first 12 car (#1215) arrived right on Robby's bumper. The 1200 car would show up at 11:55, followed closely by Billy Gasper in the 105 Unlimited Buggy. The parade of Class 12 cars continued with 1205 and Cameron Steele in the pink #16 Trophy Truck showing up in the pits at the same time.

2 fatalities; first thought to be McMillan Air Copter - they are confirmed OKAY. Was chase helicocopter for team #133, Warrior Racing. ID took a while to confirm. "Too wadded up to tell..."

Fatalities were pilot and co-pilot; two local spectators on the ground critically injured.

Hwy will be shut down for rescue helicopters to land.
