Levi Marana won the 2005 San Felipe 250, Baja 500, did not win the 1000 but did win the 2005 SCORE Championship with Cyle Chislock and Josh Fredrick. He then joined the 2006 Mike Cafro team, winning the 500 and 1000, resulting in the 2006 SCORE Championship. 2007 brought a rider of record change (Danny Prather) with same riders as the 2006 Cafro team. Once again with a 250, 500, and 1000 sweep, resulting in another SCORE Championship.

#3 Riviera Racing was the first Trophy Truck (TT) across the finish line at 12:08 PM PST. Mark Post raced the last leg and ran a great race against #4 Mexican Logistics Vildosola. At the finish line the entire team celebrated by jumping on the #3 Riviera Racing TT and popped open a bottle of champagne. The team not only celebrated their Baja 1000 win, but also the 2007 season Championship. (Photo by JH)

#4 Mexican Logistics raced across the finish 12 minutes after #3 Riviera Racing. Behind the #4 TT was Gus Vildosola Jr. He had an unfortunate mechanical set back about 90 miles outside of Cabo. They had to limp the truck in, but still managed to finish second. (Photo by JH)

HONDA DOES IT AGAIN! Steve Hengeveld from Honda 1x, first Pro Motorcycle across the FINISH line at 6:47 PST. Team has over a 30-minute lead on the next bike, riding in typical fast form. Team is Robby Bell, Steve Hengeveld, Kendall Norman, and Johnny Campbell riding a Honda CRF450X.
“It was like a blackout through the fog all the way to Santa Rita and it was really difficult,” said Hengeveld. “You don’t know where the livestock is and the lights don’t pick them up. It was one of the most hectic times of the ride and then it cleared up again. I got going on the pace, and I just tried to ride as smooth as possible to bring it in safely without any mistakes. The bike ran flawless. The Honda CRF450x is an awesome machine. Without the engineers at Japan, American Honda and Precision concepts, we wouldn’t be here today. This my 10th SCORE Baja 1000 win and it feels so good.”
Victory is sweet.
Everybody wants to hear from Hengeveld and Team Honda!
