The Parade Of Champions reached its destination at the Horsepower Ranch, and it was time to have some good food, a few drinks and to formally recognize the exploits of the Baja legends in attendance. Once again, Dirt Sports’ Marty Fiolka assumed the role of Master of Ceremonies and took the assembled crowd on a look at the storied history of the past Baja races and racers. The crowd was first primed with a cool short movie, which showcased the old racers in action as they bounced across the Mexican desert. They were then brought up on stage to receive a trophy and say a few words about the old days. Later, Fiolka asked a few representatives of important off-road based companies up and they were also recognized. As a light rain began to fall, the ceremonies came to a close and the crowd headed toward the Horsepower Ranch Cantina to party into the night. Marty Fiolka was on his game as Master of Ceremonies at the Horsepower Ranch. He kept the crowd in their seats despite the light rain that fell during the event.
This group of Baja legends represents the best that off road racing had to offer. Among their ranks is Malcolm Smith, Walker Evans and Bruce Myers.
Multi-time Baja winner, Ivan Ironman Stewart was just on of the racers who were honored at the Horsepower Ranch.
This beautiful vintage 360cc Husqvarna served as the perfect backdrop and shared the stage with the honorees. It has been autographed by all of the overall winners who won while riding a motorcycle.
Of course, there were a bevy of beauties of other kinds to be found at the ranch. Decked out in Monster Energy drink colors, these girls kept the party atmosphere in high gear.
A huge throng of Baja devotees was in attendance for the event, and they were treated to a great show.
Also honored were a few of the industry leaders who have been instrumental in the growth of the off road movement.
As good as the shows and presentations were, as soon as Fiolka gave the word that the bar was open, it did not take the crowd long to get in out of the light falling rain.
With that, the party really got started and the crowd mixed and mingled into the wee hours of the night.
