Tustin, CA, January 30 th, 2006 – In order to help: a) racers to freely enjoy the
many pleasures of off-road racing, b) their family, friends, fans
and sponsors to follow them live on the Internet, c) improve the safety of
drivers, crews, officials and spectators, d) bring sportsmanship back to
the races, e) promote off-road racing to
much broader audiences, International Racing Consultants (IRC)
introduces on a larger scale the IriTrack® real-time satellite
tracking system at Best In The Desert’s Blue Water Resort
& Casino Parker 425 (February 3 rd to 5 th). The above a) to e)
elements will be shown and proven during the race on the web sites
of IRC , Best In The Desert and Off-Road.com: www.racetheworld.net, www.bitd.com and www.off-road.com Moreover, guests, gamblers and passers-by will
be able to follow the race on a giant screen situated at the
race’s title sponsor location, the Blue Water Resort &
Casino! The system that was successfully used by five
competitors during Best In The Desert Henderson’s Terrible
400 on December 2 nd, 2005, will be equipped on the vehicles trying
for the top 20 starting positions of the Parker “425”
event, in the CLASS 1400 “Trick Trucks” and the CLASS
1500 “Unlimited Cars”. The full list of the
IriTrack® fitted vehicles will be published on Thursday,
February 2 nd, prior to the event’s time trials (2 to 5
PM). IriTrack® has been in use, then mandated by
all the FIA and FIM cross country rally organizers in Europe,
Africa and the Middle East for two years. It has dramatically
improved the safety of the racers, support crews and organization
staff members of these rallies, including the legendary DAKAR
RALLY, the world’s toughest cross country rally event. Since its introduction, IriTrack® has also
greatly increased the sportsmanship and safety of off-road racing.
Its various features and software allow the organizers to make
their rules respected by a much greater number of participants and
to act more precisely and fairly to those who choose not to obey
them. IriTrack® also plays an always greater role
in racing organizers’ and teams’ communication towards
family, friends, fans, media and sponsors. This fantastic
promotional tool can allow anyone anywhere in the world to follow
the race in near real-time conditions with a computer that has an
Internet connection or a cell or satellite phone that can receive
