ALLOY USA presents UROC Pro-National Series Final Event

Vernal, Utah - The 2005 UROC Pro-National Series season culminates in the small mountain town of Vernal, Utah. Nestled between the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area and the Uinta Mountain Range in Eastern Utah, you can expect the action to be off-the-hook as top rockcrawlers from around the nation gather for the last competition in the national series.

This final Pro-National series event will decide who will reign as the 2005 UROC National Champion. Leading the series in points is Shannon Campbell of Campbell Enterprises. Campbell has been consistent most of the season winning two events and finishing second in another.

"We have been working all season long towards the series championship and we're in position to finish well. With a little luck we might do pretty good."

At the last event in Portland, Indiana, Campbell scored his lowest finish of the season after a difficult obstacle in which he timed out and finished in 7th place.

However, Campbell's season point total is a whopping 546 points, which is going to be very hard for any competitors to beat unless Campbell fails miserably or just plain doesn't show up for the event.

Behind Campbell is John Gilleland, known to the rock crawling motorsports world as "JohnnyG." He and his spotter, John Williams, captivated the huge audience in Portland, Indiana with a tremendous win. Gilleland's win was his finest finish in the past two years of professional rockcrawling, although he trails Campbell by a huge 22 total points.

The mathematics equations have been running through the heads of all top fifteen teams as they calculate where they may end up at the end of the series final event. One scenario is if JohnnyG won this event, then Shannon Campbell would have to finish 13th or better to tie for the UROC Pro-National Championship.

Campbell has yet to score outside the top ten in any event this season.

The fight for the nation's top rockcrawling series will be for second place. Only two points out of second is Randy Torbett, Supercrawl III Champion and close behind him is Bruce Zeller driving the Nelson & Nelson built "Scrapper."

In the Modified Stock class the action at the top is tied for the top spot. Rock Runner Racing's Brian Errea has dueled with Alloy USA sponsored - Lovell Racing both scoring a total of 552 points so far this season.

In third position is Dean Bulloch at 540 points.

Throughout the season these top three teams have clashed on the rocks of America in search of a series title. In the second event of the season at Firebird Raceway in Phoenix, Arizona, Dean Bulloch finished in eight position after suffering through some difficult obstacles as both Errea and Lovell kept up the pace towards the end of the season.

Errea demonstrated early in the season that they had come to the UROC Proving Grounds to take the series championship scoring the first two wins of the season. But no one discounted the Lovell Brothers who finished second and third, respectively, to the Rock Runner Racing boys in the first two events.

In the first visit of the season to natural terrain the Lovell Brothers earned their only UROC win so far this year. And their foray to the man made rocks of Portland, Indiana was successful enough to take third place behind Bulloch and Errea in that order.

RedBull's Becca Webster, teaming with Mr. Spot himself, Lil' Rich Klein, have come on strong here in the back half of the season. They have successfully finished in the top five during the last three series events placing them into fourth place heading towards the final buzzer.

Vernal is going to be tough for even the toughest of the nation's rockcrawling teams. The terrain is brutal on spotters and you can bet that UROC will present perhaps the toughest competition of the season.

Coming out of the haystack for this event will be one of the top spotter's in the business, Tom Geviss. The cagey veteran off-road machine has been competing in off-road events for over 30 years and the opportunity to get back into the rockcrawling ring just presented itself once again.

Teaming with Jon Nelson in 2004, Geviss was one of the only two-sport athletes actively competing in professional rockcrawling. Geviss is widely acknowledged as "the top co-driver" in professional desert racing. His 30-year off-road desert racing career has put him in the right seat of NASCAR's Jimmy Johnson, SCORE's Larry Ragland and the 2004 SCORE Class 1 Champion - John Marking.

After Jon Nelson sold his competition rig, "Scrapper"to Bruce Zeller, Geviss ended up looking at rockcrawling from the outside in. That was until Don Robbins ended up without a spotter in Portland, Indiana. At Indiana a not-so-solid replacement was found, but heading into the series finals sitting tied for 8th place, Robbins and Geviss seem to be a good fit.

Another tidbit of information is that like Geviss, Robbins is an accomplished off-road desert racer. Robbins soloed the Baja 1000 in 2004...on a relic Husquvarna motorcycle. And Robbins is the only other UROC competitor who regulars races off-road desert racing events.

Heading into the last event of the UROC Pro-National Series, the two off-road desert racers will team together for a run a the title of this UROC Pro-National event. Although they don't have a chance at the series championship, anything is possible for these two desert renegades.

48 of the nation's top rock crawling teams are heading towards Vernal, Utah where they will battle it out in hopes of winning the coveted UROC Pro-National Vernal title.

Stay tuned as we bring you the latest from the rocks at Vernal.
