Team Renezeder’s Trophy Truck Heads to the SCORE San Felipe 250 See it on the Outdoor Channel LAKE FOREST, CA (February 17, 2005) Take a kilo of shrimp, add a gorgeous coastline, beautiful sunsets, thousands of race fans and 250 shock-pounding miles of off-road racing excitement and you get the one-and-only San Felipe 250. Who wouldn’t want to be there Saturday, February 26th for Round 2 of the 2005 SCORE points chase? Team Renezeder has signed up for the trip and driver, Carl Renezeder, is looking to be a serious contender for the win in his brand new Trophy Truck. “We didn’t have the normal ‘new car blues’ that you would expect when building a truck of this caliber in-house. We were disappointed with the fuel sensor problem on the first day of the Laughlin race, but this truck proved its worth the second day, finishing in second place, only 33 seconds behind the winner” Renezeder explained. “I can’t wait to see what it will do over 250 miles.” The race weekend starts early for the team with prerunning as early as Tuesday, February 22nd. Although this event is more than five times longer in length than the Laughlin Challenge, it still presents itself as a sprint race. Since most teams need to stop only once for fuel, there’s no time for taking it easy on any part of the course. This race is flat out the entire time. Therefore, course reconnaissance is absolutely necessary and the role of co-driver becomes much more critical. “Prerunning allows us to find the fastest lines through tough sections, lets us work on our race day set-up, and points out serious hazards along the course. Part of my job during the race is to give Carl a heads up on those hazards so we don’t lose time or damage the truck,” explains co-driver Mike Seat. The San Felipe 250 is the second race of the five-race points series for the Trophy Truck division in SCORE. Points are important in the overall championship race, but Team Renezeder has always got its eye on the trophy. This race won’t be any different. This team is out there to win. Television coverage of this event will be announced as soon as possible. -more-
