Salt Lake City, Utah
-
Supercrawl III is underway here
in Salt Lake City, Utah. A continuous stream of world class
competitors rolled into the Rocky Mountain Raceway throughout the
day as the UROC unveiled their man-made obstacles trackside in the
West Salt Lake valley.
Under gorgeous blue skies with temperatures hovering
around the 70 degree mark all day long, the anticipation was tense
as team-after-team arrived to the Rocky Mountain Raceway for a
closer look at Supercrawl III. However, the response from top
competitors around the nation was nothing but great responses.
Supercrawl III Technical Inspection and Contingency
is still underway here in Salt Lake City as UROC held inspection at
Jordan's Landing, an outdoor mall area in Southwest Salt Lake City.
Bordered by Kohls, Circuit City and the theatre the world's
toughest rockcrawlers arrived to technical inspection with their
game faces on. Lance Clifford, spotter for Mike Shaffer commented,
" Take No Prisoners. We are here to run aggressive and leave with
the Supercrawl Trophy." Rock Runner Racing is fielding four teams
here in Supercrawl and Team Owner - George Wadeson said, "We've had
a tremendous year of winning and I think our guys have a great
chance at a top finish. We'll have to wait and see how it plays out
over the next three days."
Carnage Crew's Aaron Dusenbery said, "We're feeling
confident and looking forward to raging on the rocks tomorrow."
Tech and contingency was crowded and the registration
lines very long as UROC struggled to get competitors registered for
the event. The 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM contingency is still underway at
the time of this publishing as Skyjacker and BFGoodrich flank the
immediate tech and contingency area as competitors and the
interested public mingle. Charlie Melchner arrived
with his own version of a new rock rig for Supercrawl III, but very
similar to Nelson evolved moon-buggy. |
