Salt Lake City, Utah - During the 2003 rock crawling season, Supercrawl III winner, Randy Torbett, was competing in professional rockcrawling with the "other brand." Torbett met representatives from BFGoodrich later in the season and asked when BFG was coming out with a tire similar to something called a "swamper." Torbett later determined where the rubber meets the rocks and he converted to the winningest tire in off-road racing motorsports. The rest is history as Torbett was crowned the 2004 Supercrawl Champion on Sunday night at the Rocky Mountain Raceway. The 2004 professional rock crawling season was pretty good for Torbett and his teammates. They claimed the 2004 UROC Extreme East Series Championship, winning each and every event they entered. In 2004 they trusted the winningest off-road rock crawling tire ever developed, the BFGoodrich KrawlerTM T/A® KX. Randy Torbett reigns from Sale Creek, Tennessee. His dominance of the UROC Extreme East Series was a bit of history in 2004. But he went even further when he and BFGoodrich captured the ultimate title in professional rock crawling, the Supercrawl III Championship. But not only was Torbett the only winner at Supercrawl III using the famous KrawlerTM T/A® KX. Dean Bulloch, a BFGoodrich driver, captured the Supercrawl III Modified Stock Championship Title using the same rubber and BFGoodrich Tires teams took home five of the top six spots in the Modified Stock Division. In fact, the top ten finishers in Supercrawl III Super Modified Division are all BFGoodrich drivers. The likes of Mitch Guthrie, Jason Paule, Tracy Jordan, John Gilleland, Jon Nelson, Larry McRae, Shannon Campbell and Mike Shaffer have all won using the BFGoodrich KrawlerTM T/A® KX. During the 2003 and 2004 competition seasons, teams running the BFGoodrich KrawlerTM T/A® KX tire have won more rock-crawling events than all other tire manufacturers combined. Teams riding on BFGoodrich Tires have won the previous two SuperCrawl events. BFGoodrich has been the winningest tire in off-road motorsports for nearly 19 years as they continue to develop the latest in advanced tire technology. As the 2004 Baja 1000 rapidly approaches, BFGoodrich will defend 18 consecutive years as the Baja 1000 winner. Since 1986, BFGoodrich Tires has had a lock on the four-wheel vehicle title with no other tire manufacturer taking top honors at the Baja 1000. To put this achievement in context, Ronald Reagan was President of the United States, the Boston Red Sox lost the World Series in seven games to the New York Mets and "That's What Friends Are For," by Dionne Warwick & Friends was the top song in the country.
During the past 18 years, winners
riding on BFGoodrich Tires have included:
1986 Mark McMillen/Ralph Paxton Chenowth Porsche Take control and rage in the dirt and rocks with the best, BFGoodrich! BFGoodrich Tires
