PRIMM, Nevada - Rain and mud bogs...sound familiar for the premier off-road desert racing organization? Ahhh...probably not, but that's what this is. Direct from Louisana country, although a bit longer than the Skyjacker Louisana mud bog at 65.13 miles...most mud bogs are 1/4 to 1/2 mile. You ask...Is it really that bad? The Trophy Trucks and Class 1 carnage list goes deep. Cameron Steele is on lap two. Scott Steinberger is on lap two. Pflueger was leading and rolled across the mud plains at the slowest speeds ever seen in the infield. Jason Baldwin was a close second as he plowed through 20" of muddy water in the infield turn. Jon Marking came through cautiously under the guidance of the dual sport hero-Tom Geviss. No signs of Larry or Chad Ragland in their respective trophy trucks. Rob MacCachren driving Vildosola's #4 Mexican Logistics Trophy Truck was just seen pushing the beautiful red, white and green Trophy Truck through 4 foot deep bumps filled with deep water. Will the rain stop? Probably not as the action in the sky is threatening. When it rains it just pours! Here in PRIMM the word is rain, rain and more rain! | Bilstein Shocks 2:00 PM Race Update |
PRIMM, Nevada - Torrential rains have soaked the PRIMM, Nevada area and the race course has turned to mud. Where's SKYJACKER's Donny Plunk at in a true mud race? Skyjacker MUD Races When is the last time you off-road desert racing fans saw a 800 horsepower Trophy Truck/Class 1 come into a turn at 5-7 miles per hour. Jason Baldwin spun out just outside the infield as he thought he was driving on ice!!! Pfearless Pflueger was the first TT to complete a full lap and he was sideways on the straightaway roosting mud to the heavens. At this time it appears that Pflueger is the unofficial leader with Rob MacCachren a close second in the Vildosola TT. Jon Marking is putting the Fox/Viejas Casino truck on mark and is on a wicked pace here in the mud of PRIMM. |

PRIMM, Nevada - Trophy Trucks raged off the start/finish line in wild style here from Buffalo Bill's Casino. With 19 Trophy Trucks and nearly twice as many Class 1's, the field of racers here in the desert is large. At the start line the threatening skiies have opened up pouring rain into the desert. The crowds at PRIMM are huddled beneath the bleachers as Mother Nature dumps inches of rain on the race course. Can you say this will be a dust free race. Mud, yes! Dust, no! Anyone have any 37" inch Mud Terrains? The infield is inches deep in mud. Steinberger was epic off the line with Dave Ashley fast and smooth behind Steinberger. Jerry Whelchel was on the pipe and the #3 Trophy Truck was fast heading towards the Main Pit. |
