Probable Winners in popular
classes. Trophy Truck
This class is very hard to call with more talent
ever. In our opinion it's a toss up between the following
racers.
#4 Gus Vildosola - With Rob
MacCachren sharing the left seat, the Mexicana Logistic team nailed
a solid win at San Felipe. By record, Rob is the best, active
off-road driver on the planet. If Gus holds a good pace and team
Logisitics are solid, a repeat is very likely.
Odds = 1 to 1
#7 Scott Steinberger - With
Jesse Jones sharing the left seat and 100 more horsepower, the PCI,
Off-Road.com truck is simply overdue for an overall.
Odds = 1 to 1 #81 Mark Miller - Mark took
the win last year with Larry Ragland sharing the drivers duties.
Ryan Arciero shares the left seat this year. If Mark can keep his
"clear air" advantage his steady hand makes for a solid chance at
the class win.
Odds = 2 to 1
#8 Dan Smith and Dave Ashley
- Dan and Dave seem to either win or DNF. The hi-revving Ford V-8
and "Beta Test" transmissions have let them down in the past.
Odds = 2 to 1
#1 Tim Herbst - The high
tech, four wheel drive truck is a clear advantage at the hands of
Tim and Ed however, the "high-tech" issue remains a gamble.
Odds = 2 to 1
#3 Mark Post - With Jerry
Welchel aboard, and Mark's speed increasing this team has a shot at
the win.
Odds = 3 to 1 Class 1
#100 Troy Herbst - Troy's race has been an has
high odds to be "Perfect as Perfect is". Look for an overall win in
cars and trucks as well as a class win.
Odds = 1 to 1
#112 Doug Fortin - Doug
excels on the tight twisty sections that make up considerable part
of the course in this year's Baja 500.
Odds = 1 to 1
#131 Dale Ebberts - Only a
back of the pack start diminishes Dale's chance at a class win.
Odds = 2 to 1
#110 Mark Weyhrich - Fresh
from a solid win at Pahrump, Mark has the momentum. Odds = 2 to
1
#115 Scott McMillin - The "Baja Racing
Family". They know every rock, cactus and Ranchero in Baja.
Odds = 3 to 1
#118 Chuck Hovey - Chuck put
it all together in the blistering heat of Nevada last year. If all
goes well, his talents can put him at the top of the class.
Odds = 3 to 1 Class 1/2 1600
#1611 Eric Allen - With Adam "fanclutch" Pfankuch
sharing the wheel this team continues to wagethe SCORE overall
points battle.
Odds = 1 to 1 Class 5/1600
#550 Allan Gregory - An easy repeat of San
Felipe?
Odds = 1 to 1
#560 Danny Ledezma - Right on
Gregory's tail or visa versa.

most capable and proven vehicle in the pack.
Odds = 1 to 1
#703 Doug Siewert - Superb
experience in Baja and a capable truck.
Odds = 2 to 1 Class 8
#805 Dave Sykes - Dave was "smokin' fast" at San
Felipe. A repeat is an easy bet.
Odds = 1 to 1
#800 Mick Vanderwy - Pretty
muched owned this class before Dave got horsepower.
Odds = 2 to 1 Class 9
#900 Eric Fisher - Didn't Eric invent class 9?
Odds = 1 to 1
#902 Luis Guerva - Five
minutes back in San Felipe. Could take the win.

#1004 Eli Yee - Super fast. Look for a finish in
the top ten overall.

always at the front of the pack. If all goes his way, he'll take
the class win.

overdue for a big class win. He has the car, the talent and
hopefully the luck.
Odds = 3 to 1
