For immediate release Heber, Ca. -SMD Motorsports joins forces with Rick RJ Johnson for the 2003 Baja 1000. RJ brings a wealth of experience plus a great positive attitude to our Team. RJ will share driving Duties with Steve (S) and Matt Scaroni (M) in what has already been described as the Toughest Baja 1000 yet. This will make 3 Rick Johnsons racing in this Years Baja 1000, all in Protrucks! The SMD 227 Protruck placed 2nd in last years Baja 1000. David Scaroni (D) will provide back up driving services if called upon by the powers to be and will handle chase & pit logistics and coordination during the race.
