United Rockcrawling Offroad Challenge The Cedar City Crawl-A-Thon
Just in case you didn't get enough rock crawling action last weekend, the Off-Road.com crew is heading out to the rocks once again. This time, it's off to Cedar City for UROC's extreme rock crawling competition. We'll be there beginning this Thursday for contingency and carry our coverage through to the last obstacle on Saturday, bringing you daily updates and extreme action footage and photos. Some 50-plus teams will compete for the ultimate honors and big bucks, vying for more than $3,000 in winnings and a shot at the end-all finale of rock crawling competitions, the 2002 SUPERCRAWL, where the top ten finishers from UROC, CalROCS, EROCC, Kremmling Crawl, Rock Garden Four Wheelers, PRO ROCKS, NWRCA, and RCAA will compete in a battle for some $52,000 on the rocks in Farmington, New Mexico on October 9-12. So far, Curt Hildebrand has the upper hand as we head into this weekend's action. He returns from a major UROC upset victory in St. George, where he spanked the Unlimited Class of competitors with a 58-point lead for the weekend at 39 points. Showmen and fierce competitors such as Chris Durham, in second at 97 points, and Neil Lillard in third at 102 points, are on the rocks this time with new strategies and a greater hope of having their day upon the rocks. Hildebrand will most certainly be a marked man. Don't forget last event's winners, Dean Bulloch in the Legends Class of crawlers, Braden Kemp, the Show and Shine winner, Troy Muse, the Neater Beater winner and Chris Monk, the Difficult Trail Extreme Cash winner. If you're looking to catch the action in person, they'll be providing food and services at the event site. And for those of you who may want to do some 'wheeling afterwards, the Color Country Four Wheeler will host their annual Memorial Day Trail Ride after the event. You'll want to contact Troy Bailey at 435-586-0209 for more info.
