Suzuki put together the best 250 MX in its history - the 1988 RM 250!

Power: The '88 RM 250 engine delivered fair low-end power that quickly disappeared into hard hitting mid-range power. The engine delivered zero top-end power.

Suspension: The '88 RM had nearly flawless fork and rear suspension characteristics! The suspension could tackle any terrain smoothly.

Handling: The RM turned just about as well as a Honda! Amazingly, the RM was stable at speed again this year too. The '88 models handling was enhanced because the radiators and fuel tank were designed to fit lower on the bike frame.

Reliability: The bike was fairly reliable. No expensive items failed on a regular basis. There were a few minor reliability things that seemed to blow out easily like plastic tabs and wimpy fasteners.

Odds & Ends: The '88 RM 250 will make a good trail/play bike and one can even ride some low key MX on it. Be prepared for the snappy and strong mid RPM engine power delivery.

Other notable design updates:
Improved rear suspension linkage ratios
Slimmer fuel tank/seat design
