2002 Honda Dirt Bikes! Some New, Some Old, Some Gone - Kiss A Familiar Face Goodbye; Welcome A New One

2001 - WORCS - Glen Helen

Here?s the lineup of dirt bikes from Big Red for the coming year.  Most of the bikes will be available in September and October.   Mixed in with the lineup,  you?ll find a very familiar face:  The CR 500.

Introduced in the mid-80s, the 500 was air cooled, but soon went on  a liquid diet, and remained virtually unchanged   for more than a decade. Oh sure, there were suspension updates, minor chassis changes, and of course, Bold New Graphics.

The engine was a brute, and only a small (crazy!) handful of riders chose to modify the engine.  In actual fact, one of the most popular modifications was a heavy flywheel to mellow out the power a bit.

The fact is that there are a lot of leftover CR 500s, and they?ll be on sale right alongside the 2002 models. Just don?t think they?re 2002 models.  The CR 500  is- officially ? gone!

Naturally, it?ll be replaced with the new 450 four stroke.

There are two completely different line of Honda dirt bikes.  Here?s a look at the offerings and what they?ll go "for."
