Power: The '92 Honda CR 250 engine was improved, again! The engine power was smoother and no other 250 engine contained the power, nor the power spread, the CR 250 possessed. Suspension: The CR's suspension worked reasonably well. The forks were not the smoothest responding forks available. But in stock form, not many riders griped a whole lot about the fork action. Heavier, expert, and pro riders installed heavier fork springs since the stock springs were too soft for them. The rear shock spiked on squared off bumps and would jolt the rider fairly hard. Other than this problem, the rear suspension performance was "okay". Handling: No other bike handled as crisply as the Honda in corners. Honda actually pulled the steering rake in by 2 degrees in '92! This gave the CR more turning prowess! Unfortunately, the '92 CR 250 was a bad headshaker, particularly with the stock fork springs installed. Reliability: The '92 CR 250 was an extremely reliable machine. Odds & Ends: Honda continued to put excellent detailing on their bikes. The bike shifted smoothly, it was easy to move around on, and fun to ride due to the outrageously smooth engine power. If you find a '92 CR 259 with stock plastic, do not be alarmed if you see white creases in the red plastic. The stuff was cheap, and produced a white crease when bent in a crash. The '92 CR 250 is a good bike. Race it or trail/play ride it! You will like the machine!
