2013 Suzuki RM-Z450
The 2012 Suzuki RM-Z450 didn’t see much in the way of upgrades last year. There really haven’t been many changes to the bike in the last few years, but for 2013 Suzuki gave a major overhaul on the bike. The new Showa Separate Function Fork (SFF) is one of the most notable changes, which is designed for one fork leg to tackle the damping while the other serves as a house for the spring. The design is said to reduce weight, improve absorption and reduce friction. Suzuki also improved the power of the RM-Z450 motor by using a new piston and by remapping the fuel delivery. A new muffler complements the updates to the powerband, which Suzuki says increases power without increasing noise. The five-speed transmission also got an overhaul to provide for overall smoother shifting.

Polaris Ranger XP 900
The addition of the Polaris XP 900 for 2013 shows that its work line of UTVs still offers plenty in the play department as well. Equipped with Polaris’ ProStar 900 engine, the XP 900 offers an increase of 20 percent over the 2012 model according to the company. The XP 900 is also available in an EPS version, but both the standard and EPS models feature changes for 2013 that include an updated chassis, restyled cockpit, updated suspension, storage, and a larger gas tank. To complement the increase in power with the new engine, Polaris also added a new drivetrain to the XP 900 to keep everything running smooth. The 2013 XP 900 can haul a 1,000-pound payload in cargo bed, and it’s no slouch in the towing department as it can tow up to 2,000 pounds.
