The 15-round season of the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series is just getting started for 2016. After the opening round in Arizona last month, the LOORRS series headed to the hotbed of off-roading in Southern California, specially the Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park. It’s still very early in the season, but it’s clear a few trends are beginning to develop in the professional classes.

Carl Renezeder continued his hot start in the Pro 4 class at Lake Elsinore, as the veteran short-course racer added a win in Round 4 and a second-place finish at Round 3. Renezeder has yet to finish lower than second place in any of his four starts in the class. Securing a win at Round 3 was Bryce Menzies, who essentially swapped spots with Renezeder at each round as he finished in second behind him at Round 4. Greg Adler rounded out the podium at Round 4, while Doug Mittag secured the final podium spot at Round 3.

Bryce Menzies earned the Pro 4 victory at Round 3, and he finished in second place behind Carl Renezeder at Round 4.

In the Pro 2 class, Menzies secured another victory on the weekend at Round 4, as he split the weekend’s wins in the class with Rob MacCachren. SoCal off-road legend Brian Deegan has showed consistency through the first four rounds as well, as he earned a second-place finish (Round 4) and a third (Round 3) over the weekend, as Deegan has yet to miss the podium in the first two weekend of LOORRS action in 2016.

Rob MacCachren kicked off the weekend right with a win in Pro 2, but he failed to make the podium at Round 4.

Although he failed to make the Pro Lite podium at Round 2, Jerett Brooks, who finished second at Round 1, swept the class over the weekend with back-to-back wins. Ryan Beat also showed consistency over the weekend, as he finished second behind Brooks in both races. Brandon Arthur, who swept the class the first two rounds, finished in third at Round 3, while Brock Heger earned the final podium spot at Round 4.

In Pro Buggy, Garrett George kicked off the weekend with a win in Round 3, followed by Taylor Atchison in second and Mike Valentine in third. At Round 4, Valentine moved up the ladder to earn the victory. Atchison followed up with another second-place finish, while Kevin McCullough rounded out the podium in third.
Taylor Atchison earned two second-place finishes at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park.

The Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series breaks for nearly a month, as it will return to action May 21-22 at the Utah Motorsports Campus in Tooele, Utah. For more information, head over to LucasOilOffRoad.com.
