The last race of the year for the Best in the Desert season is this weekend, but first racers would have to qualify to determine the 2013 Henderson 250 starting positions. In the end, Justin Lofton and Jason Voss showed why they’re leading the points in their respective classes by earning the pole after placing first and second.

Top qualifier Lofton threw down a blistering lap with over 9 seconds in hand over the rest of the field, furthering his chances at taking the class 1500 points championship.

Jason Voss, who has had an exceptional year and is leading the Trick Truck points by 47 over Steve Olliges, squeaked in over hometown favorite Rob MacCachren by just a fraction of a second. “I owe it all to my crew,” Said Voss. “I lost the trans on the practice lap and if they hadn’t changed it so quick between runs we would’ve had to start from the back. The truck is ready to do battle!”

CJ Hutchens, Harley Letner and Lloyd Sproule round out the top five qualifiers in a stacked field of unlimited class racers.
