2013 Mint 400 Miss Mint, Pit Challenge and Qualifying

Rob MacCachren won top the pole position and $5000 from Method Wheels, $1000 from Team Ford pole position award and an Oakley Bomb award for fast lap.

The Mint 400 returns to Las Vegas with a large field of racers, including 41 Trick Trucks, 30 Class 1500 cars and 30 Class 1000 cars. The action kicked off with the 4Wheel Parts Vehicle Parade down the Las Vegas Strip.

Taylor Cox was the winner of the 2013 Miss Mint.

On Thursday, Class 1500 and 1400 racers qualified for starting positions for this year’s race. Rob MacCachren bested a stacked field of qualifiers for the 2013 Mint 400 with a blazing fast time of 4 minutes and 9 seconds. This was a full 5 seconds faster than Bryce Menzies, who landed in the number two spot.

Rob MacCachren will be first off the line for the 2013 Mint 400.

"Only with the help of my crew and sponsors was I able to get here,” MacCachren said of his qualifying time. “I feel comfortable out there since it is my hometown. We feel we have the truck to win and we're excited to have the chance to run in some clean air and let everyone else battle it out in the dust."

Bryce Menzies was second fastest in qualifying.

Later on Thursday evening, pit crews battled it out in the KMC Wheels Pit Competition, which was won by Bryce Menzies’ team. Taylor Cox was the winner of the 2013 Miss Mint competition, earning a check for $5,000 and a car lease for a year.
