Stars of Action Sports and Off-Road Racing on Collision Course at Legendary Glen Helen

Aug. 05, 2010 By Press Release

Corona, California (August 5, 2010) -  This weekend, August 7th and 8th, short course off road racing and the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series makes its much anticipated return to Southern California. As track officials are making final preparations for the two day event, teams and drivers are set to take on the eight-tenths mile purpose built off road battlefield under the lights at Legendary Glen Helen Raceway. Among them are action sports superstars Brian Deegan, Jeremy "Twitch" Stenberg, Todd Potter and Cam Sinclair. Having earned their medals at the recent XGames in Los Angeles, their focus now shifts towards short course off road racing and Glen Helen.

Defending Pro Lite Unlimited Champion, Deegan, collected a pair of XGames Silver medals while competing in the "Rally Car". He arrives in Glen Helen with his eye on taking back control of the standings in the Pro Lite class. "The XGames was great and I loved driving those cars but I compete to win," declared the charismatic "General" of the Metal Mulisha. "Glen Helen is basically my home track and with my family and friends all coming out, I'm going there to take the win in front of the home crowd."

While Deegan has been a dominating force in Pro Lite, fellow Metal Mulisha freestyle medalists, Todd Potter and Cam Sinclair will be making their short course off road racing debuts in the SuperLite Truck Class. Potter, a multi-time freestyle medalist, recently captured XGames Gold in the "Best Whip" category while Sinclair, coming back from a life threatening crash, found redemption in performing a double back flip to take the Gold Medal in Moto X Best Trick.

Rob MacCachren, one of the true dominant forces in off road racing, has maintained control in the Pro 2 Unlimited (900+HP full size 2wd trucks) while Bryce Menzies and Rodrigo Ampudia continue to inch closer to the top in the standings. Through the half way point in the season, Rick Huseman has set the pace in Pro 4, (900+HP full size 4wd trucks) as defending class champion, Carl Renezeder and "Wildman" Adrian Cenni give chase.

Rounds 9 &10 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series at Glen Helen Raceway, features two full evenings of electrifying two and four wheel drive short course off road racing action. For a complete schedule and more information, please visit LucasOilOffRoad.com.
