Scott Douglas to Pull Out All the Stops for Borgwarner Cup

Sep. 02, 2009 By Press Release
Crandon, Wisconsin—Only a handful of drivers have tasted victory in the 14-year history of the BorgWarner World Championship Cup. AMSOIL Kumho Ford F-150 driver Scott Douglas has won the BorgWarner Cup twice, and the entire Douglas Motorsports team is focused on bringing home a third.

“The excitement and intensity that surrounds this race is second to none in the world of off-road racing,” commented Douglas. “It’s more than bragging rights for the coming year, it’s about being part of history. To see your name engraved on the $125,000 sterling silver and gold trophy is quite a thrill. We approach this race a little differently than a typical TORC Series points race. It’s all or nothing, there’s no holding back.”

Douglas Motorsports will field a second identical AMSOIL Kumho Ford F-150 PRO 4x4 in this year’s 15th annual BorgWarner Cup race. AMSOIL teammate and current PRO Light points leader Chad Hord will drive it.

“Chad is an exceptional talent behind the wheel and I’m thrilled that he will be representing the AMSOIL Kumho Douglas Motorsports team in the 15th annual BorgWarner Cup. It doubles our chances of bringing home one of the biggest off-road titles of all time,” continued Douglas.

The 2009 BorgWarner Cup will be the highlight of Crandon’s huge 40th Anniversary celebration Labor Day weekend will air live on ABC Sunday September 6th at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
