LAS VEGAS, NV -- The 2006 SEMA Show proved to be a high-horsepower automotive setting for meetings between Doug Davis, general manager of the Lucas Oil World Series of Off-Road Racing, and various sponsors, promoters, and off-road racers. The annual SEMA Show is the premier automotive specialty products event in the world and attracts more than 100,000 industry leaders from over 100 countries and includes two million square feet of exhibits.

Jamie Devney, motorsports marketing manager for Lucas Oil, was invited by Davis for a joint appearance on the new syndicated “Off-Road Nation Radio” program, hosted by DIRTsport Magazine’s Marty Fiolka. The program was also broadcast worldwide via Internet streaming on www.off-road.com. The segment was an exclusive interview with Devney and Davis about excitement building for the 2007 WSORR season.

“The SEMA Show has a lot of ‘buzz’ associated with new products and new developments announced in Las Vegas each year and it’s exciting the Lucas Oil World Series of Off-Road Racing is contributing to this year’s buzz,” said Davis. “Everyone is anxious to find out where the World Series is going and what we are doing. And sponsors seem to be very receptive to our plans and strategies for the future of closed-course racing in this country,” he commented. "We appreciate Marty Fiolka having us as part of his SEMA week show."

Also featured at this year’s SEMA Show, was the $125,000 BorgWarner Cup, off-road’s top prize awarded annually to the winner of the BorgWarner World Championship Shootout at Crandon Raceway in Crandon, WI. The cup was featured at the Kumho Tire display on the convention floor. Kumho is a sponsor of the 2006 Cup winner, Scott Douglas. The BorgWarner Shootout and Cup are exclusive to the Lucas Oil World Series of Off-Road Racing.

“We were thrilled to find out in person just how excited the automotive community is to hear about our plans for the 2007 Lucas Oil World Series of Off-Road Racing season,” said Davis. “We spent the entire week focused on meetings with potential new sponsors for the Series -- updating them on our three-year schedule, our three-year prime time television package with SPEED, and the tremendous commitment we have already received from our founding sponsors Lucas Oil, the Forest County Potawatomi, and BorgWarner,” he added.
