   You've seen them on the road.   Shiny topless K5 Blazer convertibles.  This project details what it takes to get there from here.  Starting with a beat up, worn out, unloved, rusted out old beater, I'll document how to perform a complete frame-up restoration of a timeless classic.  This project began in the Summer of 1998 and marks the beginning of a process that will require years of effort and great sums of money - and we'll have fun along the way.  The end result will undoubtably be worth the effort.

Hi Donald, I just came across your "Project Pheonix" and was amazed the similarity to my 73 K5 Blazer. Right down to the Burnt Orange paint and white top. I've grown up with this "Beast" and just recently was handed over to me by my dad. "Thnaks Dad!" The truck was only used for our family vacations, towing a trailer and occationally driven when our daily drivers were broken down. I'm now in the works or bringing this truck up to par so I can get rid of that Pile o Crap Dodge ram I've been driving for the last 8 years. I'd really like to see more of your adventures involved with the rebuilding of the K5 seeing how I am probably going to do the same tasks you've tackled. The links you've got posted at this chevy.off-road.com don't all seem to work. I hope you still have the K5 and still check out this site .
