Geico-Endurocross-New-4-10-13After a long summer break, the 2013 GEICO AMA EnduroCross series, fueled by Monster Energy and presented by Lucas Oil will return to action on Saturday, September 21st inside the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California. The seven race 2013 championship still has five rounds remaining and KTM’s Mike Brown was on a tear before the summer break taking the wins in Las Vegas and Sacramento. He also took a win at the non AMA points paying X Games Enduro X event in Barcelona, Spain so it has been a good year so far for the likeable veteran from Tennessee. “The KTM 350 has been great for me this year and I am looking forward to competing for the championship” Brown said of his early season success.

Brown’s closest pursuer in the championship is Poland’s Taddy Blazusiak, the four time and defending EnduroCross champion that won the most recent X Games Enduro X event in Los Angeles. Blazusiak has not been nearly as dominant so far in 2013 and will be looking to reestablish his place at the top.

“I m very excited to ride this XGames race on a JCR Speed Shop built Honda, and happy to be helped by Johnny Campbell a person and rider that I admire a lot, I want to say thanks all people from JCR, and Johnny s family, for their big help. We’ve been training at Colton Haaker’s track, and preparing the bike and I love it, also they help me train on the starts. Now I feel ready for the race and I hope to get a good result, I have no excuses, the bike and team is perfect.” — Laia Sanz

Blazusiak-Endorocross-X-games-8-5-13Poland’s Taddy Blazusiak earned his second Los Angeles X Games Enduro X gold medal in three years by riding a flawless main event. The KTM rider withstood heavy pressure first from his teammate Mike Brown and later from Colton Haaker on the Lucas Oil JCR Honda but both riders made mistakes that allowed Blazusiak to hold a narrow gap to the finish.

Brown recovered from a few small mistakes to take the silver medal and Beta’s Cody Webb rode a consistent race to take the bronze medal in his first race back from a broken foot. Haaker finished fourth and Monster Kawasaki’s Taylor Robert took fifth.

Travis-Pastrana-TORC-7-12-13The victor of over 100 motocross championships and multiple X Games gold medals is returning to Joliet, July 19-20, to compete in the Traxxas TORC Series, presented by AMSOIL.

EnduroCross-2013-Munich-Podium-7-1-13Munich, Germany – Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Taylor Robert won his first ever Enduro X Gold medal at X Games Germany. He had to survive one of the toughest Enduro X courses ever as well as outlast a tough field of International riders. In the end, Spain’s Alfredo Gomez took the Silver medal and Poland’s Taddy Blazusiak earned Bronze.

Several days of rain forced the event to be delayed by a day and the wet dirt produced an rutted course that proved to be extremely difficult, especially an uphill rock section that had all of the riders stuck or crashing at some point. Robert passed KTM’s Mike Brown on the first lap by cleanly climbing the rock uphill while Brown got stuck. But Robert also had his problems with the climb and was forced off the side of the section twice and crashed hard on the penultimate lap. The crash allowed Gomez to close to within striking distance but Robert blitzed the last lap to get the win.

“It was really hard because the mud still came up through all the dirt. Pretty much every obstacle was wet, and when they get wet, they get really slippery” Robert said.

2013-EX-Sacramento-Ruiz-6-10-13Corona, CA – June 10, 2013 – Factory Husqvarna’s Cory Graffunder hit the road for round two of the GEICO AMA EnduroCross series with one thing on his mind – podium. After starting the season with a modest seventh-place finish at the opening round, Graffunder was determined to improve his results, and he was able to do just that with a third-place finish, on the podium, at the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California.

The battle for third in the main event turned out to be an intense one. Graffunder had his hands full getting around his former teammate, Kyle Redmond, who held third for much of the main. Cory then had the challenge of fending off a hard charging Taddy Blazusiak for the final podium position. Graffunder proved to be unstoppable on his factory Husqvarna TXC310R, and would not be pressured into making any mistakes.

THR_baja-500_SCORE-5-28-13Corona, CA – May 28th – With more than a year under their belts working together as a team for THR Motorsports / Monster Energy / Precision Concepts Kawasaki, Robby Bell, Steve Hengeveld and David Pearson know exactly what it takes to win. And as the defending overall motorcycle champions in the 45th Tecate / Monster Energy / SCORE Baja 500, they’ve added a new weapon: Taylor Robert.

The 22-year-old from Arizona may be new to racing in Baja, but he has years of experience in many other arenas. He’s the defending WORCS champion, where he’s had a solid career having won the WORCS Pro 2 championship in 2008. He’s also represented Team USA abroad, earning gold medals at ISDEs in Mexico and Germany. This year, he’s concentrating on EnduroCross both domestically and internationally thanks to the inclusion of Enduro X at X Games in Brazil, Germany, Spain and the U.S. Racing is definitely in his blood.

Husqvarna-Off-Road-5-21-13Corona, CA – The EnduroCross crowd headed overseas for another round of the International X Games Enduro X, this time in Barcelona, Spain where Cory Graffunder rode his TXC310R to a fifth-place finish. Also in action over the weekend was the Fred Andrews Racing (FAR) Husqvarna team at the Limestone GNCC. Though Andrew DeLong didn’t fare quite as well, he managed to salvage a top-ten finish and keep his XC2 points chase alive.

Rain threatened to turn the Barcelona, Spain Enduro X event into another mud fest, but the promoters managed to keep the course dry and fast for the Moto X competition. Factory Husqvarna’s Cory Graffunder called on his motocross skills to tackle the jumpy high-speed course, and thanks to a bold move on the tractor tire jump, was able to pass former teammate Kyle Redmond in the main event. Graffunder ran as high as fourth, and held on strong to finish close behind former champion Taddy Blazusiak.
