MILLVILLE, MN (July 16, 2012) – The Rockstar Energy Racing teams overcame adversity and turned in solid performances all around at the Spring Creek National in Millville, MN, on Saturday. This weekend’s race was round seven of the 12-round series, and marked the beginning of the second half of an already hard-fought season.

The man of the hour at Millville was Rockstar Energy Racing’s Blake Wharton, who was the picture of consistency this weekend. Wharton put in two impressive 250 motos, finishing sixth in the first and fifth in the second, for an overall result of fifth for the day.
“Today was a real good day for me,” said Wharton. “My starts weren’t where I wanted them to be, but I felt like I was able to ride good. My bike was handling good and I feel one step closer to where I need to be. I’m looking forward to next weekend. I like the track at Washougal and we’ll see if we can do some damage.”

WASHOUGAL, Wash. (July 23, 2011) – The eighth round of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship welcomed a massive crowd at Washougal Motocross Park on Saturday, as Rockstar/Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey, of Belle Plaine, Minn., captured his third victory of 2011, on a day that saw a dramatic mix-up in the 450 Class standings. In the 250 Class, Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Blake Baggett, of Grand Terrace, Calif., raced to his series-leading fifth victory of the season.

The opening moto of the 450 Class featured a tremendous battle between Dungey and his Monster Energy Kawasaki-mounted rival Ryan Villopoto, of Poulsbo, Wash. Looking to grab his first ever win at his home track, Villopoto fended off the many challenges of Dungey, until the reigning champion fell while attempting to pass Villopoto for the lead. As Villopoto rode to the win, Dungey remounted to secure second.

In Moto 2, a holeshot and early lead by Villopoto was eliminated when a red flag was thrown after just over three minutes had elapsed. Following a restart, Dungey grabbed the lead out of the gates and never looked back. Villopoto did his best to keep up, pacing Dungey throughout the first third of the moto. However, the deficit gradually increased, and Dungey cruised to the checkered flag. With identical moto scores, Dungey and Villopoto tied in points, but by virtue of the second-moto tiebreaker, Dungey earned the overall win; his fourth straight at Washougal.

Lucas Oil-backed Colton Haaker is one of the top riders competing in the AMA GEICO EnduroCross series, presented by E3 Sparkplugs. The northern California native was a top Trials competitor before shifting his focus to EnduroCross.

He moved to SoCal this year to get more riding time in at the motocross tracks and he even qualified for two AMA MX Nationals; once on the 250 at Hangtown and then on a 450 at Washougal. But all of that time on the MX tracks hasn’t taken away from his trials skills. The video link below highlights some of the amazing skills that Colton has developed with his unique background in motocross, trials, and more recently, EnduroCross.
