ERLANGER, Ky. (Jan. 8, 2016) – 2015 marked record production for Toyota with 2,035,028 vehicles and 1,933,702 engines produced in North America. Key drivers for increased production include low fuel prices, a healthier economy and strong customer demand for Corolla, Camry, RAV4 and Tacoma.
In the first step of our TRD Like Pro Build Series, we focused on one of the most crucial upgrades on the Tundra TRD Pro: Bilstein front coilover shocks. In Part 2, we look to complement the upgraded front coilovers with 2.5-inch Bilstein rear shocks.
The first part of our TRD Like a Pro Series focuses on one of the most important upgrades to our Toyota Tundra – Bilstein coilover front shocks. These larger-than-stock, 60mm shocks will enhance the truck’s suspension performance in challenging off-road terrain as well as provide some additional ground clearance by raising the front of the truck 2 inches.
Over a year ago, Toyota unveiled its TRD Pro lineup of 2015 models for the first time. Its new TRD Pro packages, hailed as Toyota’s most capable off-roaders to date, upped the ante in capability for its Tundra, 4Runner and Tacoma. Although the vehicles have been a big hit, Toyota built less than 10,000 units between the three models, and that has made the limited run of popular units hard to come by.
With the roar of a 2015 TRD Pro Series Tundra, Toyota today formally broke ground on its new North American headquarters at the intersection of Headquarters Drive and Palomino Crossing in Plano, Texas. The Tundra took center stage, bulldozing the first soil on the site of Toyota’s new campus in a manner that can only be described as not your traditional groundbreaking ceremony.
Torrance, Calif., Erlanger, Ky., New York, N.Y., and Ann Arbor, Mich., –Toyota today announced that it is establishing a new headquarters in North Dallas (Plano), Texas for its North American operations in a move designed to better serve customers and position Toyota for sustainable, long-term growth.
Within the next three years, Toyota’s three separate North American headquarters for manufacturing, sales and marketing, and corporate operations will relocate to a single, state-of-the-art campus in Plano. Toyota’s North American finance arm also plans to move its headquarters to this new shared campus. Altogether, these moves will affect approximately 4,000 employees.
