Chip Foose and WD-40 Company launched a Foose-inspired custom off-road truck at the 2013 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The truck was built inside the new state-of-the-art SEMA Garage, a facility that allows SEMA member companies to test parts, use its 3D modeling nd printing and shoot in its full-scale photo studio. The coolest thing about the new SEMA Care Foose F-150 is that it will be raffled away to one lucky winner, with proceeds benefitting three SEMA Cares charities.

WD-40 decided that instead of being auctioned like previous WD-40/SEMA Cares vehicles, the off-road-inspired 2013 Ford F-150 Lariat will be raffled off to one lucky winner in early May 2014. The raffle tickets will cost $50 and are available now.

As somewhat of a preview to the Stadium Super Trucks race Friday evening after the 2013 SEMA Show concludes, Team Toyo Off-Road brought out some of its notable off-road racers to host a demo this week called the Team Toyo Truck-Off. Slated as an event with “no money, no champagne, no trophy,” the racers hopped behind their Stadium Super Trucks and still drove like they were in a real competition, giving the SEMA crowd, some of whom had never seen off-road race trucks in action, a demonstration of just what they could do on the Ford Out Front track in front of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Superwinch launched a first-of-its-kind app today for the off-road world called Roam, which allows users to control their winch on their cell phone.

Connecting via WiFi using a secure, password-protected network installed on the winch itself, owners can operate their winch via cell phone anywhere. Since the network is actually installed on the winch itself, cell service is not needed to operate the Roam app.

FMVSS - LogoSkyjacker has tested the new 2014 GM equipped with the 6-7” lift to prove compliance with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS 126). Through SEMA and the advanced testing by Link Engineering that involves robotic steering and outrigger equipment they have demonstrated compliance with this safety standard and are proud to announce Skyjacker has successfully passed the rigorous FMVSS 126 physical testing.

A series of tests were done to measure the vehicles stability during the FMVSS 126 test. The sensors and monitors kept track of all the vehicles movements and dynamics as it passed down the track. These tests measure with great accuracy how the vehicle reacts after modification and was done to ensure Skyjacker products work in harmony with the Electronic Stability Control (ESC). The ESC is an active control system that affects both vehicle performance and safety to reduce rollovers.

Although winter is coming, that didn’t stop Ram and Mopar from teaming up to produce a cool “fun in the sun” Ram Truck Concept in its Ram Sun Chaser.

Painted with a bright two-tone paintjob of Vibrance Orange Blast and Brilliant Black, the Ram 1500 Quad Cab is outfitted with a number of beach-going accessories. One of the most notable upgrades is a concept Mopar roof rack dubbed the “surf rack,” which featured two adjustable support rails that are fitted inside the truck bed to accommodate longer surfboards or stand-up paddleboards. The side hooks on the rack also offer storage space for up to four other surfboards.

TORC-Action-Image-11-7-13A few months ago, advertising agency and production company The Armory announced its acquisition of The Off-Road Championship (TORC). As the producer of the television show for the TORC Series for the previous four years, The Armory saw great opportunity to take over the series and work to build the TORC brand.

The Armory President BJ Birtwell addressed the media today at a press conference during the 2013 SEMA Show, providing an overview of the acquisition of TORC as well as insight into its future plans. The Armory officially takes over TORC on January 1st, 2014, though it has already been in the works hammering out details for coming year’s schedule. The biggest news is that the plan is for TORC to be a coast-to-coast series.

Mopar at SEMA
The Jeep Wrangler was recognized as the “Hottest 4×4-SUV” for a fourth consecutive year at the 2013 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) trade show in Las Vegas. The SEMA Award recognizes vehicle models that specialty equipment manufacturers believe are the best platforms for accessorization and that showcase the year’s coolest products.

SEMA President and CEO Chris Kersting presented the award to Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO of Mopar, Chrysler Group LLC’s service, parts and customer-care brand, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

“Consumers are increasingly interested in customizing vehicles, so having an accessory-friendly platform is important,” said Kersting. “The Jeep Wrangler has consistently ranked Number One as the Hottest 4×4-SUV since the inception of the SEMA Award, a clear reflection of its versatility.”
